Old Trafford Lodge

Old Trafford Lodge is a 68-room hotel in the grounds of Lancashire Country Cricket Club, in the shadow of Manchester United’s own Old Trafford.

Location

As far as hotels near Old Trafford go, you can’t get much closer than Old Trafford Lodge. It’s in 600 metres from Man United’s Theatre of Dreams, so you won’t need to get any public transport to get to the stadium. If you want to go into Manchester city centre, pop on the Metrolink at Old Trafford station, right outside your front door, and you’ll be in town in 10 minutes. If you are arriving from the airport, take the shuttle train to Manchester Piccadilly and catch the Metrolink there to take you to the hotel.

There is a complimentary continental breakfast, and free newspapers are available. The hotel offers free on-site parking, but there are currently construction works underway at the ground, so check before booking if this is important.

The friendliness of the staff is a recurring theme in the reviews of Old Trafford Lodge, as is the size of the rooms and the novelty of the location. Most niggles were minor, the most common being there was no hot breakfast. Overall, the hotel averaged a score of 8.7/10 based on cleanliness, comfort, location, services, staff and value for money.
