Days Hotel Manchester

Days Hotel Manchester is a budget hotel in the centre of the city. It is owned by Days Inn, the American motel chain. Its 117 rooms recently went under a £1.5 million refurbishment.

Getting to Old Trafford is very straightforward, even though the hotel is in the city centre. The easiest way to get there is to jump on the train at Manchester Piccadily, 300 metres away, and take the 10-minute journey to Manchester United station. You can also take the metrolink from Piccadilly to Pomona, or one of the many buses. If you are travelling to Manchester from the airport, there is a 15-minute rail shuttle to Piccadilly station, whichis very convenient. Manchester Oxford Road station is 300 metres away, and Manchester Victoria is connected by the tram network.

The rooms are a mix of single, double and twin bedrooms, all of which are en-suite. Rooms come with digital TV, tea- and coffee-making facilities, internet access, telephones, desks, trouserpresses, ironing facilities and hairdryers. Cots are available at no extra charge.

There is a bar, open until late, and a restaurant, open until 9.30pm every day. The bar also serves snacks until 9.30pm. There’s also a courtyard garden, which is rare for a city centre hotel, especially one at the cheaper end of the scale. Wifi is free throughout the hotel, and meeting rooms are available. The hotel has no parking, but a 700-space car park is adjacent to the hotel.

Guest review

Generally speaking, the hotel is rated well by guests who stay there. Some do, however, say the rooms are quite small. It does sometimes attract a young, noisy crowd thanks to its good value and central location. Overall, the hotel averages a score of 8.2/10 based on cleanliness, comfort, location, services, staff and value for money.
