Stayingcool Loft Manchester

Stayingcool serviced apartments are different in that they offer apartments dotted around the city. They were awarded Best Serviced Apartments Manchester at the 2008 Tourism Awards and were Highly Commended in 2009 for their modern take on city living, which can also be found in Barcelona and Birmingham.

Location

The snazziest apartment they offer in Manchester is ‘Loft’, in the city’s Boxworks, an old dye factory a few hundred metres from Deansgate railway and the GMEX tram on the banks of the Bridgewater Canal. It’s about a 15 minute walk into the heart of Manchester, via plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes. Those off to Old Trafford can catch the tram from Cornbrook station to Pomona. If you are arriving into Manchester airport, take the shuttle train to Manchester Oxford Road and take the tram to GMEX or Cornbrook.

Rooms

The apartment is the height of urban cool. The first serviced apartment in Manchester to be awarded five stars by Visit Britain, it is “a spacious first floor affair with tall ceilings that combine an industrial aesthetic of exposed concrete and steel, with a cool modern minimalism”. It has a large open plan living and kitchen area, with a bedroom opening onto a wide, furnished balcony. The bathroom is also rather sleek. The essentials like ironing facilities and a hairdryer are, of course, provided.

Facilities

Not only is there free wifi, but there is an Apple Mac too and an iPod player. Little luxury touches like an espresso machine, oranges for the fruit juicer and complimentary aromatherapy toiletries really make this place stand out. There is also (charged) on-site parking.

Guest review

Guests were impressed by the luxury on offer, and considered it to be good value, despite being more expensive than many apartments. Few had any complaints to make, though one guest expected the place to be bigger. Overall, the apartments average a score of 8.4/10 based on cleanliness, comfort, location, services, staff and value for money.
